There’s a reason we so often refer to an “aesthetic journey”. At The Beauty Barn®, we believe that achieving your aesthetic goals is a process that takes time and expert planning and customization. But don’t worry, that’s not something you have to do on your own.
Nurse Practitioner Cam Lowe operates on this very belief- aesthetics are not a one-stop destination. She knows this on a provider level, having worked at The Beauty Barn® for over 4 years, and on a patient level, having been a patient of aesthetics herself for 10 years before ever getting into the provider side!
Although you could argue that her experience as a patient should count as training (wink, wink), Cam has professionally trained under some of the industry leading experts in aesthetics while completing advanced level training. Cam has accumulated an impressive 17 years of patient care, giving her the experience you want to see in your providers. Cam is personable, knowledgeable, kind, and an expert in her field- who wouldn’t want to get to know her more?!

How long have you been in aesthetics, skincare, wellness, or patient care?
I’ve been working in aesthetics for a little over 4 years (a consumer for decades before that) and have been in patient care for nearly 17 years.
How would you describe your approach to patient care?
Customized. What works well for one patient, may not be the answer for another. Taking the time to understand goals is one of the best ways to make sure patients are happy with their results.
What should someone know before booking a consultation with you?
Your treatment plan with me will be a journey. If you want the best results, we should collab on a plan to address each layer of tissue – not just the top or the bottom.
What is one thing you wish more patients understood before starting aesthetic treatments?
There is not one quick-fix for most issues – it is a journey; and we are here to help! Most stellar before and after pictures are several months or even years apart.
What is one injectable treatment you think is underrated?
SkinVive!! Most skin needs more than topical hydration and SkinVive is the way to get it.
How do you help patients feel comfortable if they are nervous about injections?
Pro-Nox. Just kidding – sort of. Some patients like explanation, some patients like distraction. I offer both of those services.
What kind of patient transformation is most rewarding to you?
Whichever one brings them the most self-confidence.

What is one skincare treatment you think more people should know about?
Dermaplaning – it’s like giving your skin a breath of fresh air.
What is the biggest skincare mistake you see patients make?
Giving up on a retinol or tretinoin before they see results :/
What is your best advice for someone who feels overwhelmed by skincare?
Start slowly and be consistent. Don’t agree to a 10-step skincare routine, when you know you are a 3 to 4 step type of person. It needs to fit your lifestyle.
What concerns do you love treating with lasers or devices?
Broken capillaries and texture issues are two of my favorite things to address with laser.
What is one laser or skin technology treatment you think is underrated?
Moxi for the neck and chest – the neck is often overlooked, but it needs love too!
What should patients know about downtime or results before booking?
That everyone’s skin reacts differently. Most results are worth the wait!
What is one trend you wish patients would be more cautious about?
Jumping into treatments without addressing skincare.

I was born and raised about 30 minutes from The Barn.

Dr. Amy got me into beekeeping and now I have my own hive!
